This necklace is large and gaudy. It is a bright plated gold metal. The open work link chain measures 20 inches long. Each 7/8 inch link is thick and has some texture to it. The three, dangling cast pendants measures 3 inches each and hang from a 1 inch solid cast clover leaf component. The entire pendant measures 4 inches. The necklace is weighty, but not heavy. The spring clasp closure is original to the circa 1960 necklace. The plating is still in excellent condition.

This metal necklace is 1955-1969 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time, Trafari. The Trifari mark with crown and "c" is marked on the back of the central pendant. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
