Gorgeous 1960's dress and coat ensemble made from a Vogue Special Design pattern. The fabric is a striped wool, with either mohair or angora in the blend. It's very warm and has a heathered look to it.
The dress is a flattering sheath, with large tortoiseshell buttons (likely faux) all the way down the front. Princess seams to the waist where they form soft pleats. The deep square neckline is very mod-looking. Original skinny belt is included.
The coat is really beautiful - I love the deep pockets! It's fully lined with black satin. Really nice!
This set is in excellent condition - no signs of wear at all.
These Vogue Special Designs labels were provided to home sewers who were using special Vogue patterns. These patterns were often very involved and difficult so they were usually only attempted by skilled seamstresses.
