60's Sleeveless Embroidered Flower Pot Pocket Linen Blouse$33.00
As soon as I saw this, I thought, "Diane Lane would wear this" which really means, "A character Diane Lane plays would wear this" (bc I don't really KNOW D. Lane).
Walk on the Moon with Viggo Mortensen. A young Martha Kent in the Marvel movies. If I was the wardrobe stylist for one of her 1960's movies, I'd pull this for her to wear on a shoot. She has good arms for sleeveless. She pretty much has good everything, let's be honest here.
There's no tag, so I don't know if it's homemade or the tag was removed or what but this is not about the tag, this is about the embroidered flowers in the flower pot pockets!
Look up close. Those pockets are tapered like flower pots! How cute is that? I didn't notice it until it was up on the mannequin and I was taking photos. Details like this is what makes vintage so special.
You see little things like this on couture and vintage but rarely in contemporary, mass produced clothing.
Thought went into this. Planning. Design.
Someone had a vision of embroidered flowers and rather than just tack an iron-on on the front, they hand-embroidered it and then decided to add pockets, but not just any pockets, pockets that created a "look."
How could you not feel special putting this on and knowing that you are walking around with flower pot pockets?
No one would notice that, you say?
Who cares what anyone else notices.
It's what YOU know. And how YOU feel. And I guarantee, you'll feel pretty darn Diane Lane special when you put this on.
