This Brutalist style necklace is large and gaudy. The chain and pendant are plated gold. The graduated chains measure 20, 22 and 28 inches long and closes with its original spring clasp. The open work, cast pendant has a textured geometric pattern and measures 2 x 2. 5 inches. Please note the plating is a little chipped on the bail holding the chain.

This metal necklace is circa 1970 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
