60s Indian Silk Paisley Sun Flower Medallion Print Top$130.00
This incredible eye-catching blouse is made of a medium weight woven silk (reminiscent of silk tie fabric weight, charmeuse-like), with high sheen. The fabric features a lovely, busy pattern of paisleys, flowers, suns and medallions, in golden yellow and cream colors, on a burnt orange ground. The collar and cuffs are both exaggeratedly wide -spread, square style collar and extra long cuffs. The center front closure and cuffs have small, shiny brown plastic buttons. Not all the seam allowances are finished but those that are feature an older style overlock or serge stitching. (In fact, when I first discovered this blouse I had strong suspicions that it might be as old as 1930's). This blouse was in somewhat rough condition when I found it, and had already acquired two repairs. I decided to go ahead and leave those repairs, do my own repairs, and put in some patching for reinforcement, as well as a reinforcing blanket stitching along the cuffs to prevent any further fraying. None of these repairs are very noticeable from exterior view -please review photographs for full details. I also moved the bottom three buttons slightly, as there was mild buckling between them. No labels or maker's marks present. I'm fairly certain the fabric came from India, and most likely was made there.
