This beaded fringe-trimmed, black fur felt “helmet” hat takes a marvelously mod 1960s hat style, and makes it ultra-glamorous! No surprise that the hat’s label is Christian Dior Chapeaux—the label for licensed ready-to-wear hats made for the Dior label, here in the US. Not couture, but still gorgeous! The luscious fur felt body of the hat is so soft, it almost feels like velvet on its outer side. The helmet-shaped, or bubble crown is designed to sit up high on the head, as shown. Braided satin cord trim encircles its lower edge, above the row of looped, black glass beaded fringe that will frame the face. The crown has a notch at the center front, trimmed with a fur felt bow. On the top view of the crown and in underside view of the hat, you can see that the rounded crown has crisscrossing seams, like a traditional equestrian/riding hat. In very good condition, this mod 1960s Dior hat has some discoloration to the label, inside, from make-up or hairspray, but no issues to note otherwise. When worn, it will look perfect!
