This gold chain necklace is antiqued gold plated. The watch fob style chain measures 30 inches and holds a 2.25 inch long, .5 inch deep, hollow filigree pendant and hangs from a detailed bail. It has a nice weight to it and not heavy. The detailed fold over box clasp is stamped, "Monet" followed by a, "C" in a circle on the back. The multiple gold plating is still in excellent condition.

This metal necklace is circa 1965 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time, Monet. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
