This very 1960s dress gives me all the feels of Bridgerton.
Fabricated in a lovely, diaphanous ecru colored silk chiffon
The upper bodice is lined in a fine mesh and the lower bodice and skirt in a soft blue crepe de chine along with a second layer of chiffon.
The bodice is heavily embellished in purple faceted rhinestones in three sizes of round rhinestones and large teardrop-shaped with dashes of clear seed bead rows and dangling seed bead loops.
Empire waist with short sleeves, gusseted at the armholes
Sweeping chiffon skirt gathered into the waist seam
The closer cut under a layer of the skirt has a 3” blind hem clean-finished with hem tape
Fastens down center back with a Conmatic metal toothed zipper down the skirt and a hook and thread loop above the back slit
Maker: Malcolm Starr, from Pasternak in DC
Union Label: 1963-74 ILGWU
Condition: Very good. There are a few tiny pulls to the chiffon, most notably to the back seat area. I pointed out a small spot on the skirt. There are a few very light marks along the hem. Overall presents beautifully. See photos. Freshly cleaned and ready to wear.
