This is a circa 1960 detailed gold plated fish hair barrette. It has great detail in the four fish including antiquing in their scales and curled tails. It measures 2.5 x 1.25 inches. It closes with a double wire and looks to hold a medium amount of hair, probably not for a full ponytail.
The original tags are still with it from JC Penny for $2 and the makers tag, CORO.
