I was totally astounded when I got this dress. It is a 1960s heavily beaded mini stunner. All around the neckline is adorned with thousands of tiny glass beads and there doesn't seem to be a single one missing. I bought this from the original owner and I am under the impression that she maybe wore this once. By Jean Lutece and made in Hong Kong. Made of a non-stretch velvet and lined in a non-stretch nylon.
Shown unpinned on my mannequin at 36-27-34. Labeled size 14 but please refer to measurements.
Measurements:
Bust~39 inches
Waist~33 inches
Hip~44 inches. I'd say best for 42 inches or smaller though due to lining.
Total length~a hair under 33 inches from top of shoulder
In good condition. Zipper needs to be restitched in some spots and there is a spot towards the bottom of the beading that the loop just needs retacked into place (you can see the straggler in the first picture.) Also due to probably 50 years of improper storage there are scattered spots on the dress where the velvet is either flattened or there is loss - it didn't fluff back up for me but I don't have a very powerful steamer. I opted to not clean this because of the beading and potential velvet loss.
