Lovely black and hematite-colored glass beading and sequins trim the cardigan-style, collarless jacket of this 1960s skirt suit in black, medium-weight knit wool. The floral-patterned beadwork covers the front of the jacket, and a narrow band of additional beading encircles the round neckline, the jacket hem, and the cuffs of the three-quarter-length sleeves. The slightly boxy-fitting, hip-length jacket fastens in front with tiny hooks and eyes. The pencil skirt underneath fastens with a nylon zipper in the side seam, and a larger hook and eye at the waistband. The skirt is shaped by vertical darts from below the waistband to the hips. It is unlined. The jacket, however, is lined with lightweight black silk, which has several tiny holes and has faded a bit in some areas (see photo of lining). This will not be seen when the suit is worn, of course. It is in very good condition, with no other issues to note. Of course, both pieces of this beaded 1960s skirt suit can also be worn separately, for more wardrobe options!
