70's Silverware Handle Boutonniere Style Pin

A wonderful example of vintage up-cycling or repurposing, from the vintage days...

My best guess is that this pin was probably made around the 1960's-70's, when the idea of repurposing and up-cycling first hit mass popularity (Hippie movement). While this is a fun and somewhat unique idea, I have seen a few others like it. If it isn't obvious yet, this is a handmade pin made from the outer shell of a silverware handle. The benefit of the pin being hollow, is that it may be used as a sort of tiny vase or vessel for some flowers. Excellent for men or women! The weight and patina of this piece suggest that it may be real silver, although there are no marks to suggest so. The craftsmanship is well done, as there is no evidence of glue and the pin back seems very secure. Overall condition is excellent, please review photographs for full details.
