60s/70s Handmade Afghani Boho Colorful Cotton Velvet Vest$205.00
Traditional Afghanistan culture meets BOHO/Hippie chic, in this incredible embroidered vest!
These vests were somewhat commonplace during the Hippie/Boho movements, because many Eastern cultures were popularized and became known to the public. However, this color palette is somewhat unusual! It features a blend of darker and lighter earth tones, highlighted with a gorgeous turquoise. The entire vest is made of different cotton materials; a light blue-grey woven cotton lines the inside (with a little pocket), black velveteen (velvet with a short pile) makes up the ground of this piece, with varying earth tone colors cut out in diamond, hearts and clover shapes. Embroidered throughout is a checkered grey & white trim, flanked by a brilliant orange edging trim. The overall effect is slightly more spectacular than the usual version of this type of vest. The overall condition is excellent, with no major flaws to note, aside from some light grey marks within some of the white sections, and a few traces of glue stains in orange. Please review photographs for full details. No labels or maker's marks present.
