60's/70's Long Bell Sleeve Flower Power Maxi Dress$78.00
Late 60s or early 70s mod maxi dress. No tags, probably home sewn. The fabric is possibly nylon, with a little bit of stretch and a nice sheen to it. Psychedelic flower power print is hot pink, orange, turquoise and green on a black background, which makes the colors really pop! There is a gorgeous border print at the skirt and sleeve hem. Dress has a high, mock turtleneck that fastens in back with hook and eyes and nylon zipper. Bodice gathers under the bust into an empire waist with a faux frog closure that gives the dress an Asian vibe. Column shape dress sightly flares out to hem and has a 21.5" side slit on the right side. Fabulous bell sleeves! Dress is fully lined with a black synthetic fabric, possibly acetate. Some problems: former owner has ironed the dress from the inside (thank goodness) and scorched the lining. This has made the lining slightly stiff on the inside toward the hem. This does not affect the outside, (see 2nd to last photo, this is the inside). However I think the heat has blurred the border print just a bit, see last photo. Not real noticeable, but I wanted to let you know. Groovy 60s/70s hostess gown, caftan or maxi dress!
