60s/70s Damascene Snake Arm Band Gold Snake Cuff Arm Band$60.00
This thin, multiple coiled two-snake-head arm band is in the Spanish Damascene style that was popular in the sixties and seventies and is still being made. The snake wraps around your arm or wrist at least three times. It has scale and eye details in black and white detail along the heads. The bracelet is almost 3 inches across, fitting an average size female arm or can be bent into a bracelet. It is about .25 inch wide. From head to head is 3.5 inches. If you bend down to a bracelet, we recommend doing this only once to keep the integrity of the metal. The more you bend brass, the weaker it gets.
Damascening is the art of inlaying enamel into different levels of metal. This style is Spanish Damascene , which is artisans hand etching designs into darkened metal. Once the designs were completed, they apply black paint or enamel to accent the design. This coloring is typical of late 60's to 70's Spain styles.
The word," SPAIN" is stamped under one of his heads.
