60s Seersucker Collared Day Dress Mod Or Modest$35.00
What a sweet day dress, a blend of shift and sheath. You could style this in several directions - Mod/Dolly with white tights and lots of eye makeup, or Modest with neutral flats and pulled back hair. It uses princess seaming, intended to skim the body without hugging it. The vertical seersucker creates a subtly slimming effect. The oversize white Puritan-style collar frames the face and emphasizes it with lace edging
SIZE: No size label
Bust - 40" (101.5 cm)
Shoulders - 15" (38 cm)
Approximate waist - 34" (86.5 cm)
Hips - 40" (101.5 cm)
Dress length from shoulder seam - 37" (94 cm)
Sweep: 52" (132 cm)
FABRIC/COLORS: The fabric is seersucker, in a lemony shade of yellow. The stripes of puckered and smooth fabric are a bit wider than in most seersucker I've seen. Based on a fiber burn test, I believe it is a cotton/acrylic blend. The fabric used for the white collar is heavier, and a bit more coarsely woven. The 5/8" cottony crochet type lace that edges the collar is also heavier.
TAGS: No tags at all. I think this was most likely custom sewn
CLOSURES: The dress closes with 9 flat pearly plastic buttons up the front, topped by a snap at the neckline
CONDITION: No stains, holes, tears or other issues noted.
