60’s Silver Fringed Evening Scarf Grapes Design$15.00
This amazing, metallic silver and white evening stole or large rectangular scarf dates from approximately the 1960s. Horizontal stripes of bright silver metallic with designs of grapes and grape leaves alternate with semi-sheer, white organza and silver stripes. Both ends of this lovely stole are trimmed with black, knotted fringe. It is certainly large enough to wear draped around your shoulders as an evening wrap, but it could also be worn tied around the neck as a long, rectangular scarf. This unusual 1960s organza and silver metallic fabric reminds me of Indian sari fabric. It is in very good condition, with a faint, yellowed mark in one sheer stripe (see close-up photo), unlikely to be seen when it is worn. This would be a fun gift for a wine aficionado, with its woven grapes design!
