60’s Reversible Satin Brocade Floral Jacket$85.00
This is a gorgeous 60s reversible satin jacquard jacket made in China under the “Peony” brand.
I believe that the Chinese call these jackets “Mein Lap”.
These were a popular bring-home present for d ones bought while an Asian theater soldier was on R&R.
The rayon fabric features a floral pattern in pink, blue, green, red and cream against a silvery iridescent pearl background on one side, while the other side has tone on tone woven flowers in a beautiful red.
There is quilted detailing around the opening, the collar, the pockets and the hemline.
The jacket closes with four matching cloth “frog” button closures.
It has a Mandarin collar, a slit at either lower side and above the wrist length sleeves.
There is some filling between the inner and outer layers giving it a thick quilted appearance.
