This vibrant purple, pintucked cotton 1960s dress by Mexican designer Tachi Castillo is incredibly versatile. It could easily be worn anywhere from the beach, to an evening event, with just a change of accessories! The maxi dress has a sleeveless bodice, with wide, scooped neckline. The medium-weight, crisp cotton, pintucked fabric is turned a bit on the diagonal in front, to form a chevron design down the center front seam. Darts shape the bust and waist, and two narrow ties are attached at the side seams, just under the bust. The skirt is gently flared form hips to hem. The dress fastens in back with metal zipper, which is missing one tooth (but seems to be working fine so far, without it). The dress falls to about ankle length on our mannequin, or more-or-less maxi dress length, for a petite. The dress is in very good condition, the only other issue to note being some very minor fading to the fabric, overall, from normal laundering. A more subtle use of the traditional pintuck fabric of a Mexican wedding dress (which the designer is sometimes credited with originating), this Tachi Castillo creation is a flattering, easy-to-wear style, in a fabulous color!
