60s Mod Seceretary Dress Jumper Pinstripe Gray Orange$38.00
This dropped waist, mod 1960s dress is so totally in the style of Peggy from “Mad Men”! With the look of 2 separate pieces, it combines a grey and white pinstripe jumper and a bright orange crepe bow-neck blouse into a single, 1-piece dress. The blouse section is made of medium-weight rayon crepe and the pinstriped vest and skirt or jumper section is probably acrylic—lighter weight than real wool, but with a slightly fuzzy, wool-like texture. The upper, vest and blouse sections of the dress are lined with grey acetate taffeta, but the sleeves and box-pleated skirt section are both unlined. The dress fastens in back with a nylon zipper (the front buttons are purely decorative). This youthfully styled 1960s dress has belt loops but no belt is present; it would look wonderful with a 60s chain belt! In very good condition, this 1960s mod day dress has a pinhole on the inside of the left sleeve (see photo) and just the tiniest bit of fading to the crepe fabric, at the outer edges of the shoulders only. Neither of these minor issues is likely to be noticed when the dress is worn, and it is otherwise sturdy, freshly dry-cleaned and ready to wear!
