60’s Mod Bright Pink & Purple Terrycloth Top$90.00
Own a piece of fashion history because this iconic 1960's long sleeve terrycloth top is an authentic Deweese Design piece. Mary Ann Deweese designed the official U.S. team suits for the World Water Team Championships and the Olympics in 1960. She also worked with top studio designers on suits for the stars and for many years designed the swimsuits worn in the Miss America pageant and worked with Schiaparelli. Mary Ann was credited with such innovations as texture use, including Jacquard knits and appliquéd stretch cottons. She also introduced “sweetheart” matching swimwear and sportswear for men and women. This piece in particular is made of soft terrycloth in bold color blocking of hot pink and bright purple. The silhouette is boxy and comfy and the sleeves end in elastic so you can push them up while you are out and about enjoying your adventures. It's an easy piece to throw on with any ensemble and look instantly mid-century fabulous. It has it's original designer labels inside which reads, "De Weese Design, Swim and Sun Fashions, Los Angeles, CA, made in U.S.A., size 10/32"
