It has a Lovely Classic Design on the front of a Diagonal band and Two Rhinestone Circles on each end. It features two handles. On the inside there are three pockets: a zipper pocket and two slide pockets. Even the little zipper pull is leather. On each side of the Interior Snap Section there is one Slide Pocket. This Beauty is signed in gold inside the latched section right above the zipper compartment.

Some History of Martin Van Schaak and His Handbags - Martin Van Schaak is considered to be the most elusive American Handbag master and started designing his handbags in the 50's. His customers included the creme de la creme of New York, Los Angeles, Texas, and Washington DC. His handbags have never been for sale in the stores. They have always been created and designed with the specific client in mind. He also hardly ever advertised his handbags. In the 1960's his handbags were made per order and cost upwards of $125. The evening bags were even more expensive. One of his important customers was Jacqueline Kennedy. As of 2013 he was still living and you could order one of his handbags for $1, 000 plus.

Measurements - Length - 8. 5"

Width - 2. 75"

Height - 6" without the handles, 11" with the handles

GOOD Vintage Condition - This handbag has been qualified as GOOD Vintage Condition. This Beauty has been Lovingly Carried and it does have some light wear. Just to note, inside the front on the snap section there is one spot of lipstick or rouge shown in photo #6. There are a few tiny scratches on the latch and some wear on the edges and the front design strap. Because of the Gold Colored Leather none on these are very noticeable, just when you examine it closely. Please remember vintage goodies are not new. Each carry traces of those who have loved and enjoyed them in the past.

This item is sold from a vintage boutique in Birmingham, AL.
