Circa 60's MADLER West Germany Handbag

This is a Rare Velvet Sachel Handbag from Madler in West Germany. The Colors of Velvet are Gorgeous. They are Cherry Red, Royal Blue, and Avocado Green. It is vertically striped and has a red pull tab. The handle is also striped in royal blue and red. The inside has a red border and a navy blue leather liner. Even the hardware is still shiny. This Lovely is in the style of the Roberta Di Camerino Handbags; just not the price for one of their Velvet Bags, some of which retail now for well over $1, 000.

Some History of the Madler Company - Moritz Madler founded his company in 1850 in Germany as a fine luggage maker. It was regarded as one of the best manufacturers of travel luggage and accessories throughout Europe. In the 1920's Edgar Moritz operated the company and it became known for fine high end leather goods throughout Europe. After WWII the company's products were embossed as Madler West Germany as this handbag is embossed.

Near MINT Condition - This handbag is qualified as Near MINT Condition. The only foible seen is a tiny darker spot on the handle (see the next to the last photograph).
