50s/60s Green Lace Long Evening Gown Bridesmaid$40.00
This pretty lace prom dress dates to the early 1960s, the era of Hairspray, with a style that we tend to think of as 1950s. The bodice is styled with princess seaming that curves off to the sideseams below the waist. The neckline is scalloped with a peekaboo lace inset. The scalloped effect is echoed by the cap sleeves. The long skirt has an A-line silhouette.
SIZE: No size label
Bust - 39. 5" (100. 25cm)
Waist - 29" (73. 5cm)
Hips - 44" (111. 75cm)
Length from shoulder seam - 54. 5" (138. 5cm)
Sweep - 91" (231cm)
FABRIC/COLORS: The outer dress is completely lace, underdress is acetate. The color is a light green that might be called celery - in my crayola box, the closest match is "Spring Green".
TAGS: No maker's tag, but does have the ILGWU union tag that was sued between 1963 and 1974
CLOSURES: A long metal zipper down the back.
CONDITION: No stains holes or tears. There is seam stress to the waist area of the underdress - it is not seen except when you hold the dress up to sunlight because the lace has more flexibility. But I would recommend being very aware of the measurements and making sure you allow the usual 1-2" for ease.
