Wonderful and unique 1960s vintage womens black fedora style fur hat. It can be worn with the top like a bowl or in the design of a cowboy hat with a crease down the center. One side of the brim is more flexible and shorter than the other so I believe one side was worn straight and the other up as in the photos. Made by Otto Lucas under the “Atelier Lucas” label in London.
Soft velour faux fur felt and a wide 1/1/2" black grosgrain ribbon around the perimeter with a silver metal front rectangle buckle. The interior opening is lined with black grosgrain ribbon.
The hat brim, as show is approximately 12" w x 12" w. The height is approximately 5 1/2" and is higher than what we would think of for hats these days. Ellen Kate had a small head and was petite so the opening is going to be on the small side, approximately 21" around the inside band, outside it is 22" around.
