These large, floral 1960s Miriam Haskell vintage earrings are made of japanned black metal filigree in a flower shape, set with faceted black rhinestones. Each rhinestone is actually set into a glass bead cup, which has then been wired to the filigree base, a great example of the intricacy and fine workmanship of Haskell jewelry! The earrings date from circa 1960 to 1964, based on the style of clips used: an adjustable, screwback clip, designed to be more comfortable than a plain clip back. The earring backs have Miriam Haskell stamped into the metal underneath the clips (and a patent number stamped on the stem of the clips). They are in near excellent condition, with just a bit of wear to the surface of the japanned metal filigree, visible on the back side of the earrings, only. These mid-century Haskell earrings are quite wearable--being all black, they will match almost everything!
