Oh so groovy late 60's or early 70's mod maxi dress. The fabric is an embossed (with stripes and flowers) barkcloth by Hawaiian Textiles. It's marked on the selvage edge at hem (see photo). This dates the fabric to the mid 60's, when this fabric was manufactured in Hawaii. The dress has no tags and is possibly home sewn. Print is white with hydrangeas on the top 3/4 of the dress and a whole garden of bright and happy flowers at the lower edge. This dress has a fitted (with darts) sleeveless bodice and a scoop neck. The neckline and waist are trimmed with avacodo green velvet ribbon that ties in back, where there is a 22" zipper and hook and eye. Skirt is gathered on and A lines down to hem. Iconic flower child mid century dress!
