Rare, gorgeous, 1950s/50s Daniel Werle of Beverly Hills evening gown. Tan silk sheath dress with black guipure lace overlay, fitted through waist and hips. Darting at bust. Low back. Black satin halter straps clasp with two hook and eye clips at the back of the neck. The best part: large, billowing, light-as-a-cloud black chiffon sleeves, gathered at the wrist for a spectacular sculptural effect. The sleeves extend all the way to the back but do not quite touch for a slight slit. Metal zipper back.

Daniel Werle was based in Los Angeles and designed clothing for many Hollywood stars including Barbara Stanwyck, Marlo Thomas, Gloria Swanson and, most notably, many of the beautiful dresses worn by Loretta Young on her television show in the 1950s.

Condition: Excellent condition. No visible flaws. Chiffon is perfectly intact. May never have been worn!
