This is a wonderful vintage early 1950s skirt and blouse dress set. The label reads "Doris Dodson Juniors". This set consists of two pieces both made of black taffeta. The top has 3/4 length sleeves, a boat style neckline trimmed in black satin with embroidered and applique flowers with rhinestone accents, a darted bust, and a fitted peplum waist (for tucking) with a metal side zipper. The skirt has a flat fitted waist with a back metal zipper and hook & loop closure. It has a fuller cut with matching black satin trim and embroidered and applique flowers with rhinestone accents. Designers for Doris Dodson over the years included Grace Davile in the late 1930s and Alice Topp Lee in the 1950s. The Doris Dodson name was trademarked in 1948 and survived until ca. 1968.

No labeled size- Please use the measurements for an accurate fit, there is no stretch.
Top Measures: up to 40" bust, 28" fitted waist, 21" long shoulder to hemline and 13" long sleeves
Skirt Measures: 28" fitted waist (max), 70" full hips, 26" long and a full 145" circumference sweep.
Very Good Condition. The blouse and skirt have a few missing rhinestone accents, the blouses hem is only finished with a stitched pinked seam which is made to be tucked into the skirt. There are some pick marks on the skirt's waistband from the hoop & eye being moved around and eventually bring replaced by a hook and string loop. It is structurally sound. No fading or stains.
