This jacket is a fabulous blend of sharp tailoring and feminine details! The jacket is cropped, and double breasted, with each side tapering up to form a gentle vee - the two vees wrap over each other. The jacket is fitted with a combination of princess seaming and darts. The shawl collar extends nearly to the waist and is softened by the richly textured pleating and draping that covers it.
SIZE I wear a modern 12 and based on a try-on, I would estimate this as a 6-10, primarily in the shoulders but please consider the measurements.
Bust 41. 5" (105 cm)
Shoulders 15. 5" (39. 5 cm)
Waist 34. 5" (87. 5 cm)
Length 19" (48 cm)
Sleeve length 22" (56 cm)
FABRIC/COLORS: All fabrics are black. The jacket is so well made that I don't have anywhere to snip seam edges for fabric burn tests. The primary fabric is medium weight crepe, probably wool. The collar fabric is lighter, also probably rayon, feels a little silky but with a matte finish. Lining is a substantial crepe, also probably rayon.
TAGS: Harrods California, and a shop label, Lou Rose of Santa Barbara
CLOSURES: Three large self fabric covered buttons, one inside and two visible, aligned horizontally, with bound buttonholes and a snap to hold the corner flat.
CONDITION: There are some areas of subtle lightening to the pleating at the back of the collar - you can see it if you stretch and flatten the fabric.
