This dress is a great example of Dior's "New Look," which was ushered into fashion in 1947, and really went on to define the 1950s. The defined waist and full skirt are the epitome of femininity, and note the shirtwaist, which was also popularized by Dior during this era. This dress was made in the 1950s by American brand L'Aiglon. The skirt would have been worn with crinoline underneath for added fullness, but it has a great (yet wearable and modern) volume on its own. I love the pintuck details, and crochet lace trim.
