Exquisite lace robe from the 1950's. Base is a teal acetate with a total overlay of darker beige lace. Round collar has a double lace ruffle as does the 3/4 length full sleeves. Front placket and hem has the same gorgeous treatment. There is matching satin ribbon woven around the sleeves and front placket. Floor length, it has 3 metal snaps for a front closing.
Label is Odette Barsa who was a quality lingerie maker. She started her business in the early 1930's making lingerie. Her lingerie was luxurious, with imported embroideries and fabrics. She experimented with new lengths, and introduced the American market to the ballerina length which became popular in the 1950s. After her death in 1975, Odette Barsa continued to be run for a while by her two sons.
As for the condition I have found two small holes in the lace placket in the waist area.
