Laura Jean Allen for Associated American Artists
50s Sunspots Strapless Sarong Dress With Mathcing Wrap$1,100.00
Incredibly Rare 1953 “Sunspots” by Laura Jean Allen for Associated American Artists. Gorgeous sarong dress with matching wrap in a fun novelty print. Made from a deep black cotton fabric with chartreuse suns and white stick figure drawings. My favorite are the hands, turtle and the bright pops of magenta. Strapless sweetheart bust with gathered center, trimmed in magenta piping. Great nipped waist with the cutest side bow. Printed fabric front with magenta backing gives it a nice contrast. Sarong style skirt that drapes beautifully and has a solid black cotton skirt underneath. Bodice has boning for structure, down the center cups, and at each side. Closes in back with a metal Roxy zipper. Comes with a fantastic matching wrap that is reversible and can be worn on the solid magenta side. Truly a work of art. Dress is in excellent condition the only notable thing is on the wrap, it is a tiny pin size flaw in the fabric. It’s is minuscule and takes away nothing from this stunning set. No label or size. Fabric is marked on inside selvedge. Bust 34”Waist 26”Hips 42”Bodice 11.5”Length 42”Shown on a 5'8" Mannequin with 33" Bust- 25" Waist- 35" Hips .Please go by measurements to ensure the proper fit.
