This is just an absolutely stunning 50s black silk chiffon new look dress by the wonderful designer Ceil Chapman. The dress has a deep scoop neckline with short sleeves that are just off the shoulder. The bust is highly ruched as it drapes over the bust and sleeves. The ruching ends at the underbust and the rest of the bodice is fitted to the waist. The skirt on the dress is so very full and is made of two layers of chiffon and the lining is a silk de chine. The volume in the skirt is enhanced by a hem that is stiffened with horsehair and is a 3-D ish ruched panel that trims the entire hem. The dress has a metal zipper up the back with a hook and eye at the top. The bodice is fully lined in the same silk as the skirt and is fully boned for support that helps give the dress its wonderful new look silhouette. There is the designer label on the front of the waist and there is a Bergdorf Goodman tag on a skirt seam.
Condition:
The dress is in great condition with no flaws to note. It has been professionally laundered and is ready to wear.
