Rare 1950’s Alfred Shaheen Angel fish playsuit with matching cover-up dress. Crisp gray and white cotton fabric is printed with an under the sea motif in yellow and black with pops of red. Playsuit has a wonderful shelf like bust, nipped waist with elastic smocking on each side. Adjustable shoulder straps have 3 button options and there’s the cutest oversized pockets at each hip. Fully lined in white cotton, with elastic bloomer style legs under the shorts. Closes in back with a metal zipper. Matching cover-up is like a little snap front smock. Scoop notched neckline, trimmed in yellow piping. Closes in front with 3 snaps, and has two large front pockets! This set is in in great condition. Crisp saturated cotton, the smocking is top notch. The only flaw worth a mention is the elastic in the legs underneath isn’t as tight as it used to be. Isn’t seen when worn, and takes nothing away from this special piece. No size tag present. The dress doesn’t have a label, but is signed on the selvedge.
