Pink and black is a special color combination that was big in the 1950's...And that is just what we have here, with this early 1950's straw hat by Hahne & Co. of Montclair, New Jersey. This semi-toque style hat features a super narrow brim and outer section in pink, with the crown section in glossy black straw. Atop this, is a faux moonstone bauble with rhinestone-tipped rays, and of course, a sheared and light pink dyed feather. Black petersham or style ribbon divides each section. Inner hat is unlined, other than petersham ribbon along inner rim and there are two lightly wired temple prongs to hold the hat in place (plus, this hat comes with a black bead-tipped hat pin from the former owner!). Labels at inside read 'Hahne & Co, Montclair, New Jersey' as well as a funny little label with a jockey and horse that merely reads 'ADJ'. Overall condition is excellent, with one tiny break in straw at outer edge, and mild damage to feather -please see photographs for full details.Measurements:- 9 inches across in diameter- approximately 4.25 inches in total height- feather extends about 6.5 inches out- 19 inches around inner rim
