My oh my!! This amazing suit is well.. AMAZING
This is a very rare find in basically unworn condition. Early to mid 50's Kamehameha Miss Hawaii Swim / Play with full zip back, elastic thighs and side smocking. The smocking and elastic on thighs is in great condition at this time I do not see or feel any drying or cracking. This was well preserved. The color is vibrant and not faded or discolored. The lining is a cotton and shows no signs of wear even on tags. I did see some very very light yellow small areas at the crotch which could just be from storage and that the material there is closer when stored since there is no other signs of wear. It may even come out if soaked.
It is a shelf style bodice and is a smaller suit with some give due to the smocked panels.
SHOWN ON MODEL OF MEASUREMENTS 32" x 26" x 36" and 5'9" and it fits well and there is one more button hole on straps to shorten. The bust and waist can still hold more as well as the side smocking will allow 2-3 of room on bust and waist.
No size so USE MEASUREMENTS AND ASK QUESTIONS I do not refund for fit. Bust was taken flat back from pit to pit and this will not consider the cupping in front or stretch from smocking. The bust, waist and hips need to be doubled for full measurements. The length is taken front and back and from center crotch to top of suit without straps.
Bust -14. 5 plus cupping ( model is 32" and still some room)
Waist - 11. 5" ( model is 26")
Hips - 17" ( model is 36")
Full length from mid crotch to top of bodice - 22. 5"
Crotch to waist - Front - 13. 5" Back- 13. 5"
Waist to top of suit ( not including straps) - Front - 9" Back - 7"
Thighs ( not the elastic part but outer so max of size and needs to be doubled ) - 7. 5"
Measurement from mid crotch to the top of back of suit was apx 19" and the front from crotch to the top of suit is apx 23"
Waist measured flat back without stretch was apx 12" and hips apx 15:
