50s Navy Dots Yellow Roses Rayon Dressing Gown Robe$60.00
This 1950s dressing gown or robe in navy polka-dotted cold rayon features a bold print of giant yellow roses. The full-length dressing gown wraps closed in front, fastening with 2 ties at the inside waist, and a choice of 2 different hook-and-eye positions (one of which is likely not original). Dark gold piping trims the dolman sleeves, looping around each shoulder below the medium-sized shoulder pads. The same gold piping edges the back shoulder yoke, with a row of shirred gathers below it. The wide sash belt in bright yellow rayon taffeta to match the yellow roses may have been added by the previous owner, rather than original to the robe. It is a good match, and we will include it. In very good condition, the robe has a tiny area of fading/discoloration to the fabric around the outermost waist hook (see close-up photo). This rose print rayon 1950s dressing gown is almost too lovely to be worn only at home!
