50's Black Velvet Sleeveless Top with Sequin Eagle$68.00
Rare Mexican tank top with a gold eagle in sequin pavé. Tops like these were made from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s. They came with circle skirts and usually had hand painted scene of Mexico City around the skirt circumference. I only have the top. The design on the front, hand painted in gold, is of the coat of arms of Mexico: an eagle sitting in flames, holding a snake with cactus on either side. There are a myriad of sequins, mostly gold, sewn on. Around the neck and armholes are green and purple sequins. Sleeveless velveteen crop top has a wide, round neckline, bust darts and half princess seams front and back and rear metal zipper closure from mid back to hem. Condition issues: This truly is a vintage piece, there are sequins missing, most noticeable on the neckline and armholes. Some of the gold paint has peeled off, leaving the tan backing of the velveteen showing, see last photo. And finally, wherever there are folds in the fabric, the tan backing shows, also this is noticeable on the edges (especially the hem) and side seams. Dry clean only.
