A gorgeously tailored but plain gold satin 50's dress with a flaw in the back of the skirt...looks like the tip of an iron compromised the fabric......so maybe add a sheer overskirt? All kinds of remedies can be added...appliques, pleats, cut out lace, etc. Its a shame not to let this amazing and historical dress go unused. Well constructed, it has a metal zipper down the center back, with a hook at the top. There are 8 waist darts, 4 in the front and 4 in the back, plus darts in the bust. Each cup has three pleats, for extra contouring. The dress has a beautiful sweetheart neckline. There are two small cord beltloops, but no belt or sash. There is no fabric at the hem to let down. No tags other than a small size tag. The bodice is lined in a soft linen like fabric, that extends down to the hips. The skirt has no lining, but petticoats or crinolines would have been worn with this.
