This snake pin measures 3.5 inches. It is an antiqued silver. The snake has details of scales, eyes and one .25 inch black rhinestone on his head. It closes with a 2 inch roll over safety clasp which is still functional. The original brooch is from the fifties.

It was made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.

There are no makers marks.
