50s Lavender Blue Gingham Check Rayon Day Dress$55.00
This ladylike 1950s dress mixes lavender and sky blue to create a pastel gingham check on medium-weight rayon fabric. The double-breasted style features 2 rows of large shell buttons from bust to hem (one row is functional, and the other is decorative). The gently fitted bodice has a high-collared V neckline, 2 sets of vertical bust darts for shaping, and short, cuffed sleeves. The skirt is relatively straight, flaring out just a bit from hips to hem. The dress is unlined, and fastens in front with the row of functional buttons. In very good condition, it has a very faint fade line across the top of the right shoulder, from its long storage, and one faint spot on the back of the right hip (see close-up photos). Neither issue is likely to be noticed when it is worn. This early 1950s dress could be dressed up or down easily, to wear almost anywhere!
