Actually, it's a WHOLE doll! Trinket dish / powder jar / vanity box. There's a whole little doll in there, but the other half is covered by crochet. Someone's handmade creation. The rubber doll is from the 30s. All rubber with a baby flapper face, white anklet socks, Mary Jane shoes. Frills, in the form of cotton crochet & ribbons. Doll has nylon tricot underwear, made from pieces of scrap, but since nylon tricot didn't come around until 1938, this was added later, perhaps to preserve the little doll's modesty? Some was also used to make bow on the hat. The crochet is over 2 amber glass bowls that close like a clamshell. 8" across, 7" high. Super retro. Too cute.
