This choker is from the 50's and made of gold plated brass with faux brown and tan agate cabochon stone components. The links are 1 inch or 1.25 inches and are open work filigree swirls. It is a longer choker length at 18 inches. The links are cast, not stamped, so have a nice weight and feel to them. The gold plating is still in excellent condition. This metal and faux stone necklace is circa 1950 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products. Women’s gold, necklace.
