50's Gold Cuff Bracelet

It is a great example of a mid-century cocktail cuff bracelet. It measures 7 inches which is an average size for a woman's wrist. Each 1 inch cast link is hinged to the next. It closes with its original fold over box clasp and still functions well. It has a bright gold finish. Since the links are thick, it has a nice weight to it.

It is marked," Sarah Coventry" on the back which is pictured. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.

This style of accessory was usually worn at fancy cocktail parties, which were very popular at the time. Sometimes, these over the top pieces were known as, " cocktail " jewelry.

NecromanceNola sells this type of vintage bracelet often since it was well made, usually plated multiple times and had unique design. The bright gold tone plating is still in excellent condition. The chain links are a unique shape and have a nice weight to them. The hinges are still lose and functional. The box clasp is original to the cuff.
