This is a pre-1953 Sand Knit wool school jacket. It snaps up the front. There are underarm gussets. The blue is extremely faded. The original owner (whose name B. Ware is embroidered in the pocket) removed the letter before selling it but I think it looks super cool how you can see the shadow of the B!

Condition - the biggest “flaw” is the fading, but I personally love it! I found one old mend in waist band. There are some nibbles in the wool that present as darker blue spots. These are only on the surface and are not holes. I found one stain on the inside of the jacket. There is wear to the bias tape which covers the seams inside. This doesn’t show while being worn. The snaps work kind of hard like they hadn’t been used in years. I felt like I had to really force them to snap. Maybe they will be easier as it gets used again?
