Pristine condition! This classic garnet red silk dress is from Gothé NY Paris. Inspired by Parisian fashion, Gothé became synonymous with elegant evening attire in the 1940s and 1950s. Cadillac and Chrysler automobile advertisements featured ladies wearing sumptuous Gothé gowns, and Gothé dressed First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt for several formal events.

The beautiful shantug silk has a lot of body to it. Fitted through the bodice flaring slightly to a cute squared peplum trimmed in black velveteen decorated with bows atop the slits. The skirt is a fuller A-Line. The sleeves have a bell sleeve ending below the elbow. Center back metal zipper. I could not find any flaws.Absolutely gorgeous dress!
