This long gold double chain necklace is a naturally antiqued gold color. The long cable and peanut chains measures 60 inches and can be doubled over easily. Spaced throughout the chain are four each of 1 inch fluted spheroid hollow beads. It has a nice weight to it and not heavy. The half inch fold over box clasp is original to the necklace and is still functional.

There are no makers marks on this necklace, but is similar to the Marvella style manufactured during this time.

This metal necklace is circa 1950 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
