Vintage 50s navy blue day dress by Nelly Don.

Medium weight cotton/rayon blend fabric is worked into a lovely shirtdress with round neckline, short sleeves cut as part of the bodice and defined waist seam.

The color is a deep navy blue which was difficult to photograph. I have lightened the photos to show details.

The bodice features front and back vertical darts for a flattering fit.

Small shoulder pads can be easily removable with a few snips of the scissors if you prefer a natural shoulder line.

Beautiful flowing seven panel skirt with front pleating where sewn to the bodice

Does up the center front from neckline to hem with eighteen 3/4" domed diameter self covered buttons.

Unlined. There is one right side seam hip level pocket.

Comes with it's original self fabric buckle belt.

I'm 5'4" and this comes to the bottom of my calf. it may be shorter or longer on you depending on your height.

CONDITION: Very Good. There are no odors, discoloration, stains, fading, snags, pulls, holes, or runs.

The only thing is a small 1/8"long rip and a small pinhole on the bottom hemline about 10-1/2" from the center front and 11-1/4" from the left side seam. This flaw is shown in the last photo.

Gently worn and very well cared for. Freshly cleaned and ready to wear.

SIZING: Tagged a vintage size 14. However, as size designations have changed over the years and based on the measurements below, this dress will best fit a modern size Medium.

Outer Sleeves: 5"

Bust: 36/37" - Underarm to Underarm

Waist: 28"

Hips: 39" plus

Bodice Length: 17" - Top of Shoulder to Waist Seam

Skirt Length: 30-1/2" - Waistline to Bottom Hem

Sweep: 80" Around

Belt: 31" end to end and 3/4"wide.
