DESCRIPTION: Finding a non-velvet dress with this burn-out effect is rare enough, but finding one in such a cute print... Well, take a peek! This 1950s' primarily cotton dress has an all-over small butterfly sheer print. (We're not sure what fabric forms the semi-sheer layer.)

The simple design is enhanced by a shirred, shallow scooped neckline and a gathered, seamed single tier below the fitted waistline. This tiered section has a shadow-stripe effect along with the butterfly pattern. The skirt is full, but shown with a very narrow crinoline. Room for a full one. The fabric has a slight texture and some body to it; not super thin. The white is soft, not stark, glaring white. Metal side zipper and belt loops. No belt. The polka-dot silk sash isn't included, but looks so nice with it. No labels; looks to have been made by a dressmaker or talented home seamstress.

This versatile dress can be worn to a summer party or paired with a cute shrug and worn to work (then out to dinner).

SIZE: Not labeled. Estimated at a modern small (4 to 6). Shown clipped to fit on an XS mannequin and was a bit large. There's no stretch to the fabric, so leave room for fit ease. Please use the garment dimensions to determine fit, not my estimate.

CONDITION: Excellent/outstanding. I see no flaws, and I've laundered it. Give it a quick steaming or pass with the iron, and it's ready to wear.
